Chame is the gateway. Coming from Panama City along the Pan-American Highway, this is the district you reach before the better-known beach towns. Punta Chame itself is a slim point of sand: open, windy, and much quieter than Coronado on an ordinary weekday.
It suits people who want beach and space, and who do not need a restaurant on the corner. Errands and clinics are a drive, not a walk. Weekend houses are common. Full-time living works when you like that quieter rhythm and still want a shorter return to the city than the beaches farther west.
A good fit if you want
- A quieter beach
- A shorter return to the city
- Space over nightlife
